Anand Teltumbde
Anand Teltumbde is a civil rights activist, a scholar and a widely published author. His books with Navayana are The Persistence of Caste: The Khairlanji Murders and India’s Hidden Apartheid and Republic of Caste: Thinking Equality in the Time of Neoliberal Hindutva. On Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, 14 April 2020, he was arrested on ridiculous charges under the UAPA, a lawless law. He was released on bail in November 2022, and has since written four books including Iconoclast: A Reflective Biography of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hardcover and The Cell and the Soul: A Prison Memoir. He lives in Mumbai.
