Slavoj Žižek is a Slovenian philosopher and cultural critic. He is a professor at the European Graduate School, the International Director of the Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities, Birkbeck College, University of London, and a senior researcher at the Institute of Sociology, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. His books include The Sublime Object of Ideology, First as Tragedy, Then as Farce, Living in the End Times, In Defense of Lost Causes, four volumes of the Essential Žižek, and many more. On 5 January 2010 Zizek delivered the First Navayana Annual Lecture: ‘Tragedy and Farce’. His latest book Agitating the Frame: Five Essays on Economy, Ideology, Sexuality and Cinema was published in 2014 by Navayana.
