A former first-class cricketer, V. Ramnarayan is a writer, translator and editor. He has written extensively on cricket and the performing arts. Editor of Sruti magazine (2006–18), he has been teaching writing since 2006 at the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. In 2015, he published a memoir Third Man: Recollections from a Life in Cricket.
