“A meteor-like life across the Indian sky”

Bhim-e13498643405561-231x300Ambedkar: The Fight for Justice, originally published by Navayana as Bhimayana, gets a rousing review by Amitava Kumar. He narrates that he discovered important facts like there being more Ambedkar statues in India than Gandhi’s or Nehru’s through the book.

Amitava explains how—despite India’s modern constitution, education, and the ease of access to information—Dalits still have to learn lessons about inequality, injustice and prejudice the brutal, merciless way. The book, then, becomes even more important, for it underlines that the struggle for justice and equality continues to this date.
