The elementary torture of language

Here Slavoj Žižek identifies a connection between poetry and violence, and explains how in a poetic-military complex, the twisted words of poetry clear the ground for the twists and turns of violence. Ironically, he points out, violence on language might be the first step in overcoming the violence of language.
