The Pursuit continues

51501Culture Unplugged is, in its own words, “by and for global community of conscious storytellers, culture explorers and world citizens to reflect on issues and life experiences in contemporary world—a new media studio focused on producing as well as promoting socially & spiritually sensitive stories/films.” Its online festival site continues to host four theme-based festivals: We Speak, Here; Humanity Explored; Green Unplugged and Spirit Enlightened.

As part of its ‘We Speak, Here’ festival, it is showcasing In Pursuit of Ambedkar, a documentary feature sensitively depicting the life and times of Bhagwan Das, from his anti-caste perspective. Das was a research associate of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, compiled and edited Ambedkar’s speeches in the four-volume Thus Spoke Ambedkar, and remained a life-long crusader against the scourge of caste.

The documentary is a befitting addition to the rich collection of compassionate, insightful portrayals for hosting which Culture Unplugged is gaining a reputation. Since the broad aims of Bhagwan Das were the same as those of Culture Unplugged: To document, record and disseminate knowledge against injustice, and to actively participate in the production of such knowledge, the pleasure of being In Pursuit is doubled.
