It seems befitting—even understandable—that two of Navayana’s most radical authors must be chosen to deliver the Anuradha Ghandy memorial lectures in Mumbai. In November 2015, it was Meena Kandasamy, author of Ms Militancy, delivered a much discussed lecture titled, “No One Killed the Dalits”. This year, it is the feminist philosopher, activist and former Black Panther Angela Yvonne Davis who will be delivering the lecture. Prof Davis, who had delivered the Navayana annual lecture in 2011, is the author of Are Prisons Obsolete? and Women, Race & Class—both published by Navayana; titles that will available at the venues at discounted prices. You can also hear her at the Godrej theatre, NCPA, Nariman Point at 7:00 pm on 15 December.
Those in Mumbai, do attend!
