To mark the launch of Vimukta: Freedom Stories, the first anthology of the Vimukta people, the editors Dakxin Bajrange and Henry Schwarz will be in conversation with Alice Tilche, anthropologist and filmmaker, University of Leicester; Madhu Singh, translator, professor of English, University of Lucknow; Kalpana Gagdekar, actress, Budhan Theatre, Ahmedabad; Sonal Baxi, translator, Bhasha Research Centre, Vadodara; and Shashwati Talukdar, filmmaker, Dehra Dun.

In the colonial era, over two hundred communities across India were labelled as ‘Criminal Tribes’. This anthology, for the first time, collects their testimonies and the novel invocations of Vimukta struggle.
